Unfortunately on short notice we got the message that a choir can’t participate in this year’s festival: The Boğaziçi University Rock Choir from Turkey had to cancel its participartion. One of the choir’s sponsors cancelled their support, so that the choir members were not able to finance their arrival.
Despite all the care taken by the AMJ to find new sponsors, the choir finally cancelled its’ participation. “Considering the political situation in Turkey it would have been a pleasure having the Boğaziçi University Rock Choir take part”, said the AMJ Secretary General Jörg Meder.
However, we are happy to announce that the Riga Girls Choir (Latvia) offered to sing instead at the concert on Thursday, September 7th, 2017 in the St. Trinitatis church Wolfenbüttel together with the Chamber Choir of Gymnasium Muttenz (Switzerland).
