Carlo Pavese

Italy

Carlo Pavese is a musician from Turin, where he also successfully completed his studies in choral music and composition at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory. In the late 90s, he received a scholarship that enabled him to deepen his interest in contemporary choral music and to work for three years under the direction of Gary Graden in Stockholm. He also took part in master classes with Eric Ericson, Tõnu Kaljuste, Frieder Bernius and Ragnar Rasmussen. In 2003 he founded the youth choir Coro G and in 2005 became artistic director of the association “Piccoli Cantori di Torino” with its children’s choir, youth choir and music school. He was appointed conductor of the Italian Youth Choir (2017-2019) by the Italian choral association Feniarco. Carlo Pavese gives concerts all over Italy and Europe, both with his own choirs and as a guest conductor. He is also frequently invited to lecture on choral conducting, interpretation and choral improvisation, and to act as director of choral workshops. His compositions and arrangements are performed both in Italy and abroad.
