Escolanía de la Arquidiócesis de San Cristóbal de La Habana

The Escolanía de la Arquidiócesis de San Cristóbal de La Habana is an initiative of the Sacred Music Chair of the Padre Félix Varela Cultural Center. The idea started in the summer of 2018, when a first call was made to the Ecclesial Communities of the Diocese of Havana for the initial acquisition and experimentation of a new choral project that aims to train children and young people in the practice of sacred music. For its creation, the Director Mailán Avila was invited to begin two weeks of workshops open to children and young people without age limit, one in the month of July and another one in August, from where the children and adolescents suitable for this new project were chosen. In September the group was consolidated and since then they have been participating in various musical activities.
