The Augustana Youth Choir of the “Singing- and Music School Mozartstadt Augsburg” brings together around 40 young people aged between 13 and 23. Most of the participants have completed an early musical education programme at the singing school, while others join as lateral entrants if they are suitable. The aim of the work is to offer the children a well-founded, versatile and holistic vocal and musical education as far as possible and to promote the joy of singing together. The focus is on polyphonic choral singing. The repertoire ranges from classical choral literature from the past five centuries to gospel, jazz, rock and pop pieces, often arranged by the choirmaster Dominik Uhrmacher himself. Numerous activities, choir weekends and projects enrich the choir community.
