Laura Jēkabsone is a Latvian composer, arranger, professional singer, music educator, conductor and artistic director of the vocal group Latvian Voices and choir “Korīga”. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music and gained international experience through numerous vocal and composition workshops. Laura’s music has been performed by the a cappella group Latvian Voices, Latvian National Symphonic Orchestra, Liepāja Symphonic Orchestra, State Choir LATVIJA, Riga Cathedral Choir School girls’ choir Tiara, The Oxford Choir (UK), Stellenbosch University Choir (SA), Mägi Ensemble (USA), Incantare Coro Femenino (Argentina), Raffles Chorale (Singapore), Landarbaso Abesbatza (Spain), a cappella groups The Real Group (Sweden), Sjaella, Amarcord (Germany), etc.
In late 2025, Laura co-founded a project-based choir, “Korīga”,, where she conducts and interprets her own new works and contemporary choral music from around the world. In early 2026, “Korīga” released Laura Jēkabsone’s latest choral music album, “Kora teika Radīšana.”
Laura is a regular member of international juries, a masterclass instructor, and a singer with Latvian Voices at concerts around the world.
