Festival 2027

22th EUROTREFF: 08.-12.09.2027

The EUROTREFF is an international children’s and youth choir festival, which has been held every two years in Wolfenbüttel since 1989.

Children’s and youth choirs from all over the world come together for four days to sing together and get to know their cultural and individual similarities and differences. In workshops, the choirs work on a repertoire of pieces with a specific festival theme under the guidance of renowned international choirmasters. The results of the workshops are presented to a large audience at the final concert. The choirs also present pieces from their home countries in encounter concerts.

JOY – Guiding theme of the EUROTREFF 2027

The joy that brings us together

Joy is more than just a feeling – it is a language understood all over the world. Under the motto ‘Joy’, we celebrate the thrill of singing, making music and sharing experiences together at the EUROTREFF Youth and Children’s Choir Festival. When voices come together, moments full of energy, togetherness and bliss are created. It really brings home the fact that joy grows when you share it.

Children and young people from different countries come together to share their passion for music. This shows that joy connects people across national borders, languages and cultures. Many different voices come together to create a great shared sound – a symbol of openness, friendship and solidarity.

Joy stands for the joy of music, of international encounters, of friendships across borders and of unforgettable shared experiences. In this way, Joy becomes more than just a motto: it is a message of community that is carried out into the world from this festival.

One festival – three goals.

1. to provide new musical impulses for young choirs
2. encounters between cultures, encounters on site in Wolfenbüttel and encounters with themselves as young musicians
3. participatory development of an umbrella organisation protection concept for the AMJ
